A Message from the Executive Director

As we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I am reminded that the mission of the Fritz Pollard Alliance Foundation is rooted in the same principles Dr. King championed — fairness, dignity, equal opportunity, and the unwavering belief that systems can and must evolve to reflect our highest values.

Dr. King taught us that progress requires persistence, courage, and a willingness to challenge structures that limit human potential. In many ways, the work of the FPAF is a continuation of that call. Our efforts to expand access, elevate diverse leadership, and ensure that talent is recognized without bias reflect the very spirit of Dr. King’s vision for a more just society.

Over the past seven years, I have seen firsthand how powerful that mission can be when we pursue it together. Whether through advocating for equitable hiring practices, supporting emerging leaders, or engaging the League in meaningful dialogue, our work has always been about more than football — it has been about fairness, representation, and the belief that opportunity should never be limited by race or background.

As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, I encourage each of you to reflect on the role you play in advancing this mission. The progress we seek requires collective commitment. It requires voices that speak up, leaders who open doors, and members who remain engaged and active in shaping the future of our game.

The work continues, and its relevance has never been clearer.
